Task Force 1, Inc. is prepared to help get you ready for what could be the worst day of your life, an encounter with an active shooter. Today, no one and no place is immune. These attacks have become a daily event with unbelievable carnage. Sadly, churches are especially in the crosshairs, finding themselves targets of terrorist attacks. This session is a starting point. It will provide you with an understanding of the gravity of an active shooter event and how critical it is to have a plan in place beforehand. Your preparedness is a matter of life or death. Planning, training and quick action will save lives. While not the total answer, this session will catalyse your church to develop and implement a plan for an active shooter event.
Learning Objective 1: Understand the importance of risk and vulnerability assessments and considerations for developing a workable active shooter plan.
Learning Objective 2: Have historical perspective related to active shooter incidents with an emphasis on those occurring in places of worship
Learning Objective 3: Be able to determine the training needs and equipment for your personnel to respond to stop the dying.
